Dear Mrs. Knudson:
Creative Games INC and I have come up with a powerful game to use in your classroom. We understand that history of the Civil War is a very important part of your curriculum. We believe we have created an outstanding, entertaining tool for you to use with your students to help them review for the end of the chapter test.
I would like the opportunity to show you this game and explain to you how to use it in your classroom. I am available any day next week at lunch/homeroom or during F Period. Please let me know when the best day/time would be for us to meet.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to talking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Haney
President, Creative Games INC

Business Letter and Business Cards

Business Letter Business Card

You must now type business letter to the teacher you will be working with. Go to the following site for the proper set up for a Business Letter: http://englishplus.com/grammar/00000152.htm.

For the heading, use the teachers name and c/o Shrine Catholic Academy, 3500 W 13 Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI 48076. For the inside address, please use your home address. In the body of your letter, make sure your tone is appropriate. Remember you are trying to “sell” this game to the teacher. In your first paragraph, give them a brief explanation of what your game is and how it involves them. In the second paragraph, you need to ask them when an appropriate time would be to meet with them to discuss your game (date/time). You can tell them you can meet anytime during our computer class (F Period), or before or after school or during lunch or homeroom. In the last paragraph, sum up by saying you are looking forward to talking with them soon.

SPELL/GRAMMAR CHECK THIS LETTER. CARELESS EDITING MISTAKES WILL SERIOUSLY DIMINISH YOUR GRADE.

Print it out and submit it in the basket by the end of the hour.

Business Card

Now you are going to create a business card for your game company. Think of a creative name for your business. Add your name and the title you have in your company (CEO, creative designer, salesman/woman, etc.). Make sure you have contact information included (phone number or an email address). Also, design a logo for your game company or have a graphic to go with it. If you get really creative, include your company’s slogan on it. I suggest using Photofiltre or Paint to create your business card. Make the size 1/8 of a page.
